How we work
The iFone Guys work to a clearly defined process when developing applications. This ensures that outputs are of high quality and deliver value.
1. Clarify Requirements
A document is drafted to clearly articulate the core business need(s) that will be addressed by the application and a list of the feartures, functions and content that will help to bring this about.
| |
4. Testing
Testing is carried out on iPhone and iTouch devices.
Test scripts are derived from the design documentation in order to pensure applications act, look and function accordingly.
|
2. Design
Wireframes are produced to cealry illustrate and describe the various 'states' of the application, detailing the user interactions and how they work. Graphic and multimedia elements are produced at this time also.
|
5. Deployment
This involves publishing the application to the iPhone applications exchange at the iTunes store.
If clients are publishing under their own brand, they need to be registered with Apple.
Release strategies are usually based around
a) The pricing model; and
b) Raising awareness of the application and where it can be downloaded.
Applications that support campaigns will typically be available for free download to iPhone users. Others incur a charge to download.
|
3. Development
The execution of the design using the iPhone's SDK (Software Development Kit) to code the application in Apple's Objective C language.
The iPhone Simulator allows the developer to see how things would look on the iPhone without having to deploy the app to a device each time.
|
6. Measurement
The iTunes store provide satistics on the amount of times an application has been downloaded.
The data incldues the country and currency
